POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: An officer contacted a man in the 100 block of Talmage Road at 2:16 a.m. Jan. 10 and cited a 49-year-old Ukiah man with an arrest warrant. At 2:31 a.m. the officer contacted a 52-year-old Ukiah man in the same location and arrested him on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia and violating his probation. He was booked into county jail.

BATTERY: Caller in the 1000 block of South State Street reported at 4:23 a.m. Jan. 10 that he “woke up to a woman biting his face.” An officer responded but no prosecution was desired.

SHOPLIFTER: Caller at Walmart on Airport Park Boulevard reported a theft at 4:05 p.m. An officer responded and arrested a 34-year-old Ukiah woman on suspicion of petty theft, possessing controlled substances without a prescription and for violating her probation.

SHOTS FIRED: Caller in the 700 block of East Gobbi Street reported at 12:59 a.m. Jan. 11 hearing gunshots. An officer checked the area and reported finding nothing of concern.

LOUD MUSIC: Caller on Village Circle reported at 1:07 a.m. Jan. 11 hearing loud music being played at a party. An officer responded and those responsible were “contacted and advised.”

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: Caller in the 700 block of East Gobbi Street reported at 1:19 a.m. Jan. 11 that suspicious circumstances were occurring. An officer responded and reported not finding anyone at that location.

CAT CALL: Caller in the 700 block of East Gobbi Street requested at 8:03 a.m. Jan. 11 that an officer call them regarding a cat. The officer was unable to locate the animal.

DEATH: An officer responded to the 700 block of South State Street at 6:52 p.m. Jan. 11 and took a report of a death.

LOUD MUSIC: Caller at the corner of Peach and Leslie streets reported at 9:12 p.m. Jan. 11 that loud music was being played. An officer responded and reported that those responsible were “counseled and would be turning the music down.”

SHOTS FIRED: Caller on Marshall Street reported at 10:53 p.m. Jan. 11 hearing gunshots. An officer checked the area and reported finding nothing of concern.

LOUD MUSIC: Caller in the 1100 block of South Dora Street reported at 11:45 p.m. Jan. 11 hearing loud music. An officer checked the area and reported that it was “quiet upon arrival, quiet upon departure.”

TRAFFIC STOP: An officer stopped a vehicle at East Perkins Street and Highway 101 at 1:21 a.m. Jan. 12 and arrested Timothy P. Judd, 61, of Philo, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a license suspended/revoked for DUI, evading an officer and resisting/threatening an officer. He was booked at county jail and his vehicle stored.

PANHANDLERS: Caller in the 100 block of South Orchard Avenue reported at 2:16 p.m. Jan. 12 that someone was panhandling. An officer checked the area and reported that the person was gone. At 2:32 p.m., a panhandler was contacted in the 100 block of North Orchard Avenue and the officer reported that they “moved along.”

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the UPD  regarding calls handled by the Fort Bragg Police Department.

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of South Main Street and Highway 20 at 10:16 p.m. Jan. 12 and arrested a 51-year-old Modesto man on suspicion of reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road and not having proof of insurance. He was cited and released.

Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.
