Maheesh Theekshana moved into the top three of the ICC Men's One-Day Rankings for the first time. The spinner was at his best with the ball against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. He picked 7 wickets in the two games and put his team on top.
Maheesh Theekshana climbed to 663 rating points and now enjoys a career-high ranking tally in the ICC's latest rankings. The Sri Lanka National Cricket Team spinner is now six points behind front-runner Rashid Khan (669) and two behind India's Kuldeep Yadav (665), the world's current top two.

Apart from Maheesh Theekshana, New Zealand National Cricket Team pacer Matt Herny also made gains in the ICC Rankings for bowlers in ODIs. The fast bowler had nine wickets at an average of 10.33. He moved up three spots to equal-ninth with 635 rating points.
Babar Azam, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli stay at the top of the ICC ODI rankings for batters
In terms of the ICC batting rankings for ODIs, there wasn't much change. Pakistan batter Babar Azam, with rating points of 795, stays at the top, followed by India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma, who is at No.2 with 765 points. Shubman Gill (763) and Virat Kohli (746) are third and fourth respectively. They all have having opportunity to better their effort as the ODI series for Pakistan and India is around the corner followed by the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
