SDFD Crews Respond to Open Space Rescue, Crash on Interstate 5 ...Middle East

Firefighters were called Saturday to an open space rescue off Sorrento Valley Boulevard and an accident on Interstate 5.

Units were dispatched around 10:40 a.m. to 5664 Greenshade Road, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. A total of 29 personnel were assigned to the scene, including two engines, two trucks and one medic, officials said.

Other crews were dispatched at around noon to the I-5 northbound on-ramp near National Avenue. A total of 21 personnel responded, including two engines, two medics and one truck.

The department did not specify how many people were involved in either incident, nor the extent of their injuries.
