The Welsh actor was among the many people who lost homes in the wildfires that ignited earlier this week. Hopkins, 87, had two homes in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood, both of which were destroyed in the Palisades Fire, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
On Friday, the two-time Academy Award winner posted his message on Instagram as he addressed the widespread destruction. “As we all struggle to heal from the devastation of these fires, it’s important we remember that the only thing we take with us is the love we give. ???❤️,” his message said.

Authorities have attributed the wildfires’ speedy spread to the dry weather conditions and high winds that Southern California experienced in the early days of the new year. More than 90 wildfires popped up across the state in the first 10 days of 2025, according to Cal Fire.
