THE iconic Rose Bowl stadium looks much different than usual as multiple wildfires engulf the surrounding Los Angeles area.
The horrifying southern California fires have destroyed more than 1,000 structures and claimed at least five people, according to reports.

Fortunately, the Rose Bowl hasn’t been affected by the wildfires.
However, an ariel image has shown smoke over the hillsides behind the venue which includes what has been called the Eaton Fire, which rages about four miles northeast of the beloved stadium.
The Rose Bowl looks hardly noticeable as the parking lot area surrounding the 90,000-capacity venue has been used as a makeshift home for families who have evacuated their houses.
The Pasadena Fire and Police has also used the area as a command center while they fight the blaze.
Over 5,000 acres across three areas in the Los Angeles area have burned so far since the fires began on Tuesday morning.
Tens of thousands of people have evacuated from their houses.
The wildfires occurred a week after the Ohio State Buckeyes beat the Oregon Ducks by a score of 41-21 in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day.
The game helped Ohio State advance to face the Texas Longhorns in the College Football Playoff semifinals which will take place on Friday night in Arlington, Texas.
The Rose Bowl is the 16th biggest stadium in the world.
It has hosted five Super Bowls – the third-most played at a single location.
The Rose Bowl hosts one of the most popular college football games each year.
And it’s the home of UCLA football.
The stadium isn’t expected to be at high risk of being directly impacted by the raging fires, per National Public Radio.
A Level 2 evacuation warning indicates a “high probability of a need to evacuate,” meaning that people should prepare their family and belongings to leave the area.
People with medical issues, however, are told to depart the area as soon as possible, according to the definition made by the United States Forest Service.
There remains concern that the area surrounding the Rose Bowl will be engulfed shortly.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has already issued a state of emergency and President Joe Biden approved a disaster declaration to give funds and resources to those affected.
The Rose Belue was set to host a concert by The Weeknd, but the performance has been postponed.
