Five earthquakes shook several regions in Ethiopia within a span of less than four hours late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
The earthquake monitoring center revealed the full details of the earthquakes in Ethiopia and their magnitudes.
First earthquake An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale hit an area 100 kilometers from Metehara in central Ethiopia at 9:56 PM on Wednesday. Second earthquake An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck an area 28 kilometers from the city of Abomsa in central Ethiopia at 12:35 am (first minutes of Thursday morning). Third earthquake An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck 23 kilometers north of Awash in Ethiopia, at a depth of 10 kilometers below the Earth’s surface, at exactly 1:07 am on Thursday morning, according to the US Geological Survey. Fourth earthquake An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck an area 36 kilometers from Abomsa in Ethiopia at 1:45 am on Thursday morning.
