JUSTIN VERLANDER has reportedly agreed a deal to join the San Francisco Giants.
The 41-year-old pitcher was a free agent after leaving Houston Astros.

Verlander has struggled with injury in recent years and he failed to make enough appearances to trigger a clause in his Houston contract that would have extended his stay in Texas.
He made just 17 starts in 2024 after suffering with shoulder inflammation and neck discomfort.
Verlander became a free agent after he failed to pitch 140 innings, a total that would have triggered his ability to exercise a $35 million conditional player option.
But he was also far from his best when he did take to the field, holding a 5-6 record with a 5.48 ERA across 90 innings for Houston.
Verlander is preparing for his 20th season in MLB and he has the most wins of any player still competing with 262.
He has ended his second stint with the Astros after they traded him a year into his two-year deal with the New York Mets.
That meant he cancelled his £86m contract to return to Houston, where he won two World Series between 2017 and 2022.
The Mets traded Verlander to the Astros in exchange for minor-league outfielders Drew Gilbert and Ryan Clifford.
Fans joked at the time that the main attraction for the trade was Verlander’s wife Kate Upton.
Upton was named the Sexiest Woman Alive by People magazine in 2014.
She’s appeared on the SI cover in 2012, 2013, and 2017, as well as other magazines such as Vanity Fair, Vogue, GQ and Esquire.
Kate is estimated to be worth $280million and has been married to the future Hall of Famer Verlander since 2017.
They have a daughter, Genevieve, who was born a year later.
Verlander admitted last year was tough but he feels he still has more to give.

“This year was a tough year, learned a lot from it.
“But having an offseason to get things right, I definitely feel like I want to continue to pitch and compete. I’m not ready to step away yet.”
