SIMONE BILES has seemingly confirmed her Olympic career is over.

After cementing herself as one of the greatest of all time at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Biles was named as Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year.

Biles is the most decorated US gymnast in Olympic history, winning three more gold medals in Paris last year in the team event, all-around, and vault.

She also added a silver medal to her cabinet in the floor event.

Biles’ efforts brought her career total of Olympic medals to 11, seven of those being gold.

She has a career total of 43 medals with many coming from 23 World Championships.

Biles returned to the 2024 Olympics after struggling to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

There she suffered from the Twisties, but overcame that battles with her four medals in 2024.

Biles is now tied with Vera Caslavaska as the second-most decorated female gymnast in Olympic history.

However, she doesn’t believe the record will ever be hers to hold individually.

The 2028 Olympics return to the United States, and despite the opportunity to compete at home, Biles isn’t sure she will compete for more medals.

Biles admitted to Sports Illustrated that she has nothing left to prove and could quit while she’s ahead.

“Life and death,” she said is what it would take to get her to return to the Olympics.

“Because I’ve accomplished so much, there’s almost nothing left to do, rather than to just be snobby and to try again and for what?

“I’m at a point in my career where I’m humble enough to know when to be done.

“If you go back, you’ll be greedy. Those are the consequences. But that’s also your decision to decide.

“What sacrifices would be made if I go back now? When you’re younger, it’s like, prom, college.

'Mother hen' Biles

Simone Biles' first coach Aimee Boorman exclusively told The U.S. Sun that she thinks Biles will be spurred by a new role this year.

“Having younger teammates benefits her because she has stepped in as the mother hen figure,” said Aimee.

“And so she has to tell them to stay calm. You’ve got this. You’re prepared. And so as she’s saying it, she’s also hearing it.

“You always have tiny kids that come into the gym, but they’re never ripped like Simone was,” she said.

“I know she was very self-conscious about it growing up. But from a coaching perspective, it was great.

“I didn’t think that Simone would be a multi gold medal athlete straight away.

“But she did stand out because she was very tiny, but very muscular.”

“Now it’s like, starting a family, being away from my husband. What’s really worth it?”

Biles is still contemplating the legacy she will leave behind in the sport, but suggested a few years of retirement could clarify things for her.

“I don’t think the reality has set in of what I’ve exactly done in the sport,’ she said.

“I can see it, and I hear it from people, and I see a glimpse of it, but the full magnitude I don’t think I’ve realized just yet.

“I don’t think I’ll realize ’til maybe I retire and look back in a couple years like, Damn, she was good.

“Because I can see that, but I do it every day. So for me, it’s normal.”
