THE NFL is facing a ratings nightmare due to the Kansas City Chiefs’ success.
Networks could be deprived of the league’s biggest teams and stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce for almost a month.

The victory moved them to 15-1 for the season and sealed the No. 1 seeding in the AFC playoffs.
Kansas City booked their spot with a game to spare.
They are due to face the Denver Broncos in a Week 18 clash on January 4 or 5 to finish the regular-season.
Mahomes has been struggling with an ankle injury and could be rested now the playoff spot is secure.
And Kelce, 35, is in line for a rest as well to be fresh for the playoffs.
But with Kansas City already securing a bye – they will not be in action on Wild Card Weekend.
Mahomes and Co. will instead be watching the first round of the playoffs on January 11, 12 and 13 at home.
The Chiefs’ playoffs will begin in the divisional round the following week.
They will take on the lowest remaining seed on either January 18 or 19 at Arrowhead Stadium.
And with their last game taking place on December 25 – Mahomes and Kelce could now be off for almost a whole month.
The Chiefs have featured in a number of high-profile games already this season.
They opened the 2024 regular-season at home to the Baltimore Ravens in September.
Kansas City also played a Black Friday special on Amazon Prime against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Their recent run of three games in 11 days left TV networks worried with Mahomes carrying an injury.
But he was able to play in the national TV special on December 21 against the Houston Texans despite the ankle injury.
That game on NBC also featured a Madden-themed simulcast with Mahomes given the video game treatment.
The Chiefs were also selected for the Netflix special on Christmas Day.
The NFL signed a three-year deal with the streaming giants and put Mahomes center stage on the holiday.
Netflix set a streaming record with almost 65 million viewers in the United States tuning in for part of the Christmas NFL double-header.
