On Friday, Dec. 27, family members posted the somber update on his official Instagram account.
"With heavy hearts, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved Ben, known to the world as OG Maco," the post read. "His life was a testament to resilience, creativity, and boundless love. Through his music, passion, and unwavering spirit, he touched so many lives and left a lasting impact."
The rapper—best known for his 2014 track "U Guessed It"—reportedly died on Thursday, Dec. 26, at a Los Angeles hospital after suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, TMZ reported. He had been hospitalized since Dec. 12.
