Chelsea winger acquired for £62 million in 2023, has recently been suspended following a positive test for a banned substance. Reports indicate that his "A" sample returned an adverse finding, with the "B" sample pending analysis. This situation raises significant concerns regarding athlete integrity and adherence to anti-doping regulations within professional sports. The substance reportedly detected is Meldonium, which has been associated with performance enhancement and is prohibited by various sporting organizations.
The report adds that Mudryk is still waiting on the result of a second sample (‘B’ sample) and whether or not it confirms the findings of his ‘A’ sample.
Chelsea Football Club can confirm the Football Association recently contacted our player Mykhailo Mudryk concerning an adverse finding in a routine urine test.
Mykhailo and the club will now work with the relevant authorities to establish what has caused the adverse finding.
The Ukrainian has now confirmed that he has been banned by the FA and stated he is not 'knowingly used any banned substance' as Chelsea also released their own statement addressing the situation.
Posting on his Instagram account, Mudryk announced: 'I can confirm that I have been notified that a sample I provided to The FA contained a banned substance.
'This has come as a complete shock as I have never knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules, and am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened.
