GLENDALE — Arizona Cardinals inside linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. will not return in Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots due to a concussion suffered on the opening drive.

On the fourth play from scrimmage, Wilson blitzed inside and was met by running back Antonio Gibson.

He immediately went down to the ground. Wilson tried to get up under his own power but stumbled back to the turf before trainers rushed out to the field.

Wilson was able to walk off the field, but did need the help of two trainers as he headed for the locker room.

In for Wilson was second-year pro Owen Pappoe, who has appeared in 12 games this season.

Wilson is having an impressive first season in the desert alongside MIKE backer Kyzir White, racking up 67 tackles, 3.0 sacks, four passes defensed and seven quarterback hits across 13 starts.

Cardinals injury issues go beyond Mack Wilson Sr.

Arizona’s injury issues continued the very play, with linebacker Jesse Luketa going down after tackling Gibson for no gain.

The linebacker was seen limping off the field with trainers after being evaluated in the blue medical tent.

He’s dealing with a thigh issue and is questionable to return.
