The tournament features seven team and kicks off in Doha on Wednesday as hosts Al-Sadd play Oceanian minnows Hienghene Sport in Doha. The tournament will serve as part of the test-run for the 2022 World Cup in the same country, although the FIFA club showpiece has already been hit by an embarrassing last-minute hitch when one of the three venues – the  Education City Stadium in Doha – was declared unready.
