Crews work to contain fire at Crowders Mountain, officials say ...Middle East

CROWDERS MOUNTAIN, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Firefighters have been working most of the day to control a fire at Crowders Mountain in Gaston County. Officials say the fire is mostly contained and have issued a back-burn in the area. Crowders Mountain Fire Department is advising the public to avoid the region for safety reasons. Crews are closely monitoring the situation and are in communication with the Department of Forestry. Officials say there is no threat to the community. This is a Developing Story.
