December 8, 2024 (OMDURMAN) – Malnutrition has killed 29 people in Sudan’s West Omdurman in recent weeks, a local official said on Sunday, as the number of cases soared to 6,500 amid fighting and a humanitarian crisis. The Umbadda district, west of the capital, Khartoum, has been under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since conflict erupted in April between the paramilitary group and the army. “The medical office recorded the deaths of 29 people due to malnutrition,” the official, who declined to be named for security reasons, told Sudan Tribune.
