A pastor was shot dead and two other people were injured on Sunday morning in a shooting at a church in East Texas, authorities said. The pastor opened a bathroom door inside the Starrville Methodist Church and found a man hiding in there, Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith said in a news conference. The pastor was armed and drew his weapon, but the suspect was able to take the gun and shoot him, Smith said. He said one other person was shot and is being treated at a local hospital, while another was injured in a fall.
