Maureen Lipman is taking a step back from Coronation Street in order to have a “bit of a gap year” and enjoy life, she has revealed. Lipman stars as Evelyn Plummer in the soap, having rejoined the cast in 2018 after a brief stint as another character back in 2002. Since her arrival on the cobbles, Lipman has been a regular face in Weatherfield, but is now set to cut back her appearances. Speaking to The Sun, Maureen said: “I’ll be absent for a while, and then coming back.
