Image via CIFF website. Renowned Egyptian screenwriter Wahid Hamed passed away Saturday morning at the age of 76. His son, film director Marwan Hamed, announced the news. The late screenwriter reportedly suffered from several health problems and was admitted to a hospital in Mohandessin a few days prior. Hamed had just received a Lifetime Achievement Award at last month’s 42nd edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) for his numerous critically acclaimed works in Egyptian cinema.
