Sonora, CA — There are two opportunities in the year to hunt for free in California. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife allows people to hunt without purchasing a hunting license on those two days, provided that other requirements are met. During this license year, the first opportunity is this Saturday, November 23, and the second chance will be on Saturday, April 12.
