(QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Haywood County officials are urging people to not ignore 'Road Closed' signage after a driver went around a blockage on I-40 near Tennessee and drove off the interstate and into the Pigeon River Gorge. Patricia Mahoney, 63, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, died later that night, according to Sgt. Brandon Miller of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, which is investigating the crash.
