OK, actually, this is not a particularly significant piece of news, as the waiver of reliever Jimmy Herget (a guy who didn’t actually pitch in the big leagues for the Cubs, and who wasn’t going to be tendered anyway) happened earlier in the week. And so, mentally, he was kinda already off the roster for most of us.
