SOUTH CAROLINA (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The updated death toll in South Carolina due to Hurricane Helene has risen to 33 fatalities, according to the SC Department of Public Safety. Of the 33 deaths, four are in the Queen City News viewing area. As of 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, here are the number of deaths in each county: Aiken- 6 Anderson- 4 Chester- 2 Chesterfield- 1 Greenville- 6 Greenwood- 1 Newberry- 2 Richland- 1 Saluda- 3 Spartanburg- 6 York- 1 The previous total released at 6 a.m. on Monday was 29.
