As of 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, burn permits are now required for “hazard-reduction burning within the State Responsibility Area,” the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection announced this week. In a press release, the Cal Fire Mendocino Unit explains that as of May 1, “burn permits must now be obtained online at https://burnpermit.fire.ca.gov/.
