NBA playoffs are always an exciting time for basketball fans, and this year's matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks is no exception. These two historic franchises have a long-standing rivalry that dates back decades, making this series one to watch.
The 76ers, led by superstar Joel Embiid, have had a strong season and are looking to make a deep playoff run. On the other hand, the Knicks have surprised many with their impressive play this season, led by Julius Randle and RJ Barrett.
The series now shifts back to Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia for Game 6 on Thursday.
The Knicks had a chance to end this series Tuesday night, but they couldn’t get it done. They missed some good looks, their defense was uncharacteristically porous at times and they couldn’t do enough to shut down an embattled Sixers team in the final minutes of regulation.
Bogdanovic has a $19 million salary for next season that has $2 million guaranteed. It becomes fully guaranteed if he's still on the roster on June 28.
New York is already missing All-Star forward Julius Randle for the rest of the season because of shoulder surgery, while Mitchell Robinson remains questionable for Tuesday night's Game 5 because of an ankle injury.
Knicks would advance to the second round in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2000 with a win Tuesday, and would advance with a win at Madison Square Garden for the first time since 1999.
The Knicks have seen far greater production from their role players than the 76ers in this series. Even with Robinson missing time, the Knicks have dominated defensively with massive contributions coming from the bench.
NBA teams with a 3-1 series lead have gone on to win the series 95.4 percent of the time (268-13). Those teams have finished the job in Game 5 at a 63 percent rate. In the first round, that number is 96.3 percent (78-3) to win the series.
As the teams face off in a best-of-seven series, fans can expect intense competition and thrilling moments on the court. Both teams will be fighting hard for every point, making for an exciting showdown between two of the league's top teams.
In the end, only one team will emerge victorious and advance in the playoffs. But no matter who comes out on top, fans can be sure that they will witness some unforgettable moments in this classic matchup between two NBA powerhouses.
