Celts once again did everything they could to play into the Heat's black magic. They were sloppy with the ball, they gave up a shit ton of points off TOs, they missed FTs, the ball didn't move, and they didn't guard the 3pt line. Every single thing we know you cannot do against the Heat is exactly what they did, which is why they ended up with the same result. A crushing playoff loss.
Despite Miami's uncharacteristically strong showing from deep, Boston remained within striking distance throughout. One would think Game 3 is shaping up to be a clear regression to the mean situation.
Miami led by five, 55-50, with two minutes left in the first half before Brown hit three straight 3-pointers to open a four-point lead. Brown missed a 3 the next time down, but his layup in the final seconds made it 61-58 at the half.
Miami went on a 10-0 run to take an 82-70 lead with under four minutes to play in the third before the Celtics cut it to six
Bam Adebayo leading their offense with 26 points and Jimmy Butler adding 22 points. However, they were unable to overcome the relentless pressure from the Celtics.
In the end, it was clear that Boston's teamwork and determination were key factors in their victory over Miami. The Celtics proved once again why they are considered one of the top teams in the league.
