DA: Mendocino County woman found guilty of vehicular manslaughter ...Middle East

A Laytonville woman was found guilty of vehicular manslaughter in Mendocino County Superior Court this week, the Mendocino County District Attorney reported. According to the office of DA David Eyster, a jury on Tuesday found Jane Laycock Barisione, 71, of Laytonville, “guilty of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, (a charge that stemmed from) a crime occurring late in the afternoon of March 22, 2023, on the Ridgewood Grade” just south of the Cal Fire Howard Forest Station on Highway 101. According to Eyster, “Barisione was driving an unregistered vehicle southbound in the fast lane at an unsafe speed for the conditions during a heavy rainstorm (and) the rear tires of the defendant’s vehicle
