NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – The fifth-seed Sandhills-Thedford Knights faced the fourth-seed Howells-Dodge Jaguars in the quarterfinals of the Class D2 Girls State Basketball tournament at Pinnacle Bank on Wednesday. In a back-and-forth affair, the Knights led the Jaguars by two at the half, 29-27. In the third quarter, Howells-Dodge jumped out to a lead, which grew to as many as eight. After multiple attempts to cut into the lead Sandhills-Thedford eventually fell, 52-44. The Knights were led by seniors Dayle Haake and Jaylen Dimmitt, who had 15 and 14 points, respectively. While the Jaguars had five players score nine points or more. Sandhills-Thedford ends their season with a 21-5 record
