Drivers traveling on Harlem Avenue encoutered delays on Friday evening in Summit as police investigated a fatal crash, according to authorities. The collision was reported before 4:10 p.m. near Harlem Avenue and the Interstate 55 underpass. According to the Summit Police Department, officers were assisting Chicago police with a fatal accident. Footage from Sky 5 showed a vehicle that had flipped onto its hood in a wooded area. The area was cordoned off with police tape as officers and first responders worked on scene. Police urged drivers to plan accordingly as backups were possible in the area.
