The advent of the smartphone has revolutionized the way we communicate, work, and entertain ourselves. With each passing year, mobile technology continues to evolve at an astonishing pace. Samsung, a leading player in this field, recently launched its Galaxy S24 phones backed by artificial intelligence (AI), ushering in a new era of mobile devices.
The Galaxy S24 series boasts cutting-edge features that are powered by AI algorithms. These algorithms enable the phone to learn from user behavior and adapt accordingly, providing a personalized experience like never before. From suggesting apps based on usage patterns to optimizing battery life based on individual habits, AI brings unprecedented convenience to users' fingertips.
Samsung Electronics. “Galaxy AI is built on our innovation heritage and deep understanding of how people use their phones. We’re excited to see how our users around the world empower their everyday lives with Galaxy AI to open up new possibilities.”
Some of the neatest ones include the new “circle-to-search” function, which allows you to circle any item in an image, video, or string of text and get search results at the bottom of the screen in whatever app you’re using, without having to open a separate tab. New AI-enhanced photo and video editing allows for sharper zooming, after-the-fact slow-mo video creation, smarter photo editing suggestions, and the ability to erase or move around components for a more perfect shot, much like the Google Pixel’s Magic Eraser feature.
The S24 can even transcribe, format, and summarize audio recordings—handy for meetings, lectures, or creative brainstorming sessions—and translate calls and texts in real time in up to 13 languages, even when the person you’re conversing with is using a non-Samsung phone or a landline.
Galaxy S24 model is now 6.2 inches instead of 6.1, and the Galaxy S24 Plus is now 6.7 inches rather than 6.6 inches. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is the same 6.8 inches as previous models, but Samsung did finally, and thankfully, ditch the curved display edges for flat edges.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra's metal body has been changed from aluminum to titanium, which may have contributed to a slightly thinner design. Otherwise, the Galaxy S24 Ultra isn't any lighter than previous aluminum models.
The phones also have typing-based AI features designed to help you write in an appropriate tone of voice, depending on who you're writing to. Among the other new features in the Galaxy AI suite is a "Live Translate" function that enables two-way voice and text translations of calls in real time.
And for the Galaxy S24 Ultra with the S Pen, AI can give you summaries of your hand-written notes, automatically format them into digital format, and check spelling and grammar.
