Gary Oldman has revealed that, upon reflection of his Harry Potter role, he feels as though his acting in the films was “mediocre”. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with host Josh Horowitz, Oldman revealed that the Harry Potter films are what he’s most widely recognised by fans for when asking for autographs. But Oldman surprised many when he went on to add: “I think my work is mediocre in it. “No, I do. Maybe if I had read the books like Alan [Rickman], if I had got ahead of the curve, if I had known what’s coming, I honestly think I would have played it differently.”
