USGS: 2.7 Magnitude Earthquake hits New Hampshire

Some viewers reported hearing a large boom and felt their homes shake or rumble.

"It rattled my whole house and scared us half to death," wrote WMUR viewer Chris Ring of Concord.

"Thought our furnace blew up or a car hit the house," wrote Sherry Pattillo of Epsom.

"It felt like a freight train ran for twenty feet outside my house," said Daniel Day of Durham.

While New Hampshire is not typically known for its seismic activity, this recent earthquake highlights the importance of being prepared for such events. Even minor earthquakes can cause damage to buildings and infrastructure if they occur near populated areas or vulnerable structures.
