Rockstar Games has announced Grand Theft Auto 6 will be unveiled in a trailer on 5 December at 1400 GMT.
However, it is still unknown when the game itself will be released.
Despite this, many fans are excited, and Rockstar's post on X announcing the trailer launch has already had 26 million views in just under two hours.
It has been 10 years since Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto 5, which is the second best-selling video game ever behind Minecraft, having sold more than 185 million copies.
Now, you may scoff at this deduction, but consider this: birds are kind of weird in the Grand Theft Auto games. Remember when they were called “flying rats” in Grand Theft Auto 4 and you got something for killing all of them? The fact that we know that Grand Theft Auto 6 will have birds could be a big deal. Or maybe not.
Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird” might appear in the trailer.
Elsewhere on social media, eager fans are digging into the GTA 6 poster for any hints as to what’s to come. Mostly, it’s speculation on the third birds. Three birds equals three characters? And then there’s the jokes about the people analyzing the poster — and the current state of video game remasters.
GTA VI will live up to expectations.
However, while leaks have hinted at a return to Vice City, there is no official confirmation of the game's setting or other details.
The gaming community is eagerly awaiting further information as the release date draws closer.
