According to supporters, Mitra, who has been sulking over Trinamool’s “indifference” towards him, has been trying to regain control over Bhowanipore, also chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s assembly constituency. He had invited actor Shakti Kapoor to inaugurate the Bhowanipore Rathayatra.
