The Rocky Mountain Conservancy announced a busy October slate, headlined by a handful of special events to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Isabella Bird’s visit to the Estes Valley. Bird is famous in the area for being the first white woman to scale Longs Peak and for documenting all her travels in her 1879 book, “A Lady’s Life in the Rocky Mountains.” Every Friday morning in October, the Conservancy is offering the “Women of Rocky” tour, a “historical adventure throughout the Estes Valley,” according to a release by the Conservancy.
