Falcons triumph 25-24 over Packers

Falcons on Sunday.

The loss drops the Packers to 1-1 on the young season. Atlanta is 2-0.

Green Bay could not get a single first down on offense on three possessions in the fourth quarter, and the Packers' defense couldn't stop the Falcons. Atlanta climbed back into the game drive by drive and eventually took the lead on a chip-shot field goal with 57 seconds left.

Desmond Ridder was 19-of-32 for 237 yards with one TD, one INT and a 79.8 rating, adding 39 rushing yards on 10 attempts. WR Drake London had six catches for 67 yards and a TD, and WR Mack Hollins had three catches for 60 yards.

Jonnu Smith on the sideline got seven yards. Ridder then scrambled up the middle for a first down, and then hit Kyle Pitts for about eight yards on first down. A quick swing pass to Robinson saw Bijan do the rest for yet another first down. A designed run for Ridder picked up an easy first down and got close to the end zone, and then a pass to Pitts in the end zone was flagged for pass interference to bring Atlanta even closer. Ridder then threw the next one away—I hope, given that it was over Pitts’ head—and it was second and goal. Robinson was stopped just a bit shy of a touchdown, and then Riddder couldn’t connect in the back of the end zone. Fourth down the Falcons tried to draw an offsides and got a false start instead, settling for a field goal.

the Packers' offense dried up in the final quarter, allowing the Falcons to move to 2-0 for only the 11th time in franchise history.

Love went to second-round pick Jayden Reed for touchdowns of 10 and 9 yards — the first scores of the receiver's young career.

Love also connected with Dontayvion Wicks on a 32-yard touchdown that gave the fifth-round pick his first TD as a pro.

The Packers were missing three injured starters on offense and lost another during the game, leaving Love to play behind a patched-together line.

Koo kicked four field goals to offset a missed extra point that left the Falcons down 10-9 at halftime.
