A man accused of setting fire to the Gualala Community Center earlier this year has pleaded no-contest to the crime, the Mendocino County District Attorney reported this week. According to the office of DA David Eyster, Roland Joseph Eskind, Jr., 53, formerly of San Ramon, “withdrew his not-guilty plea Monday afternoon in Mendocino County Superior Court and, in its place, entered a no-contest plea.” The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office reported that Eskind was arrested shortly after the fire began around 4:10 a.m. Feb. 13 at the Gualala Community Center in the 47000 block of Center Street.
