U.S. orders partial evacuation of embassy in Niger following military takeover ...Middle East

The U.S. Department of State Wednesday ordered a temporary partial evacuation of the U.S. embassy in Niamey following the military takeover of Niger’s government last week.  The State Department said all non-emergency U.S. government personnel and eligible family members were ordered to depart from the embassy on Wednesday, noting the commercial flights are limited.  The agency said the embassy will stay open for limited, emergency services for U.S. citizens.
