Superman, reimaginings that resonate with multiple generations of comic books fans are difficult to pull off because he’s one of DC’s oldest, most beloved heroes who people have spent decades becoming attached to in one form or another. Everyone knows the broad strokes of the Man of Steel’s story, but what feels “right” or “true” to the character often depends on when, where, and how you first encountered him. And because Superman’s been around for such a long time, there are as many different takes on him as there are realities in DC’s comics. 
Suddenly, Clark notices a car spinning out of control, its driver distracted by the fussy child in the back seat. Without a second thought, Clark rushes to the car, stopping the vehicle before it slams into a tree. Clark stares at his hands in confusion, wondering how he suddenly gained such speed and strength. But we viewers know the answer: this is Superman, the Man of Steel we know and love.
Clark Kent's journey to discovering his powers and history, with enough twists on his classic origin to carry viewers who know the story through.
The story is also heavily steeped in the DC Universe, from the show's first villain Livewire (who originally debuted in the '90s Superman: The Animated series before coming to comics), to the larger storyline that's being set up involving Kryptonian technology and several DC characters viewers are likely to recognize.
As Clark Kent (Jack Quaid) starts his first day as a reporter at the Daily Planet, he finds himself entangled in danger before he even has a chance to settle in. He makes friends with Lois Lane (Alice Lee) and Jimmy Olden (Ishmel Sahid), both colleagues at the paper, and it doesn’t seem like he’s going to have an easy time keeping his super-identity a secret.
