Manhattan: In his latest opinion piece decrying the Supreme Court’s invalidation of affirmative action in college admissions policies (“Court ignores reality,” column, July 2), Leonard Greene characteristically assumes that the fires of racial discrimination rage unabated. His attack against the rationale in the concurrence by Justice Clarence Thomas, of whom I’m hardly a fan, that the elimination of affirmative action “will remove the stigma and any doubt” of a person of color’s achievement has superficial merit.
