May 29, 2023 (KHARTOUM) – The Sudanese army and paramilitary forces have agreed to a five-day extension of the ceasefire, allowing for the delivery of humanitarian aid and discussions on further measures to bring an end to the conflict. Initially signed on May 20, the seven-day humanitarian ceasefire agreement was marred by violations as clashes and airstrikes persisted, impeding the delivery of aid and hindering the restoration of vital services such as water and power.
