Zoonomia: Genetic research reveals all we share with animals ...Middle East

Scientists from around the world are comparing the genetic blueprints of an array of animals to gain new insights into our own species. It's called the Zoonomia Project. It's the subject of 11 papers published Thursday in the journal Science. One of the most striking revelations is that certain passages in the instructions for life have persisted across evolutionary time. Researchers from around the world were able to figure this out by sequencing and comparing genomes of 240 species of mammals. They also found clues about animal abilities like hibernation as well as human traits and diseases.
