Republican Yemen The Iran-backed Houthi rebels have announced reaching an agreement with the United Nations to unload oil from the Safer tanker that has been floating off Yemen’s Red Sea coast since the outbreak of the war. The rusting SFO Safer tanker, which is loaded with 1.1 million barrels of crude oil, is described as a ticking bomb for it has been left unattended for over 7 years. “The UN pledged that the alternative tanker must be exportable as the Safer floating ship,” senior Houthi leader Zaid al-Washli told the local Al-Masirah TV channel.
