By Ori Polkinghorne The last match of the 2021 volleyball season was an NCS first round playoff game at Redwood High in Novato.  Coach Amanda Brown’s team bowed out in straight sets, however, by the third set, the very young Ukiah side played neck and neck with Redwood.  A few weeks later Redwood would go on to win the State Championship; the best team in California at the Division 2 level.  The shot of confidence was obvious to Brown—her girls could play!  Although the Wildcats lost some strong players to graduation, the fact of the matter is that most of that team has returned.  Brown realized that her still-young team needed more experience, hard work, and some positive results to buoy th
