After the historic 2-1 vote of the state Farm Laborers Wage Board on Jan. 28 to phase in a 40-hour week for New York’s farm workers with time-and-a-half overtime pay for hours beyond 40, Board Chair Brenda McDuffie said, “So what we will do is we’ll have that report drafted. We will announce in the coming days or weeks on the Department of Labor’s website our meeting date and that will allow us to move forward and the recommendations to be received by the commissioner.”
