A Willits man who reportedly tried to take a deputy’s weapon during a standoff in late July was arrested recently for allegedly shooting three dogs while still out on bail for the previous offense, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office reported. According to the MCSO, deputies responded to the 15000 block of Poonkinney Road in Dos Rios on Aug. 25 after it was reported that three dogs had been shot and killed while their owners were away.
