A total of 7,000 abandoned vehicles were removed from various parts of the country and transported to the designated sites since the beginning of the year, a senior official at the Ministry of Municipality has said. Hamad Sultan al-Shahwani, a member of the Joint Committee for the Removal of Abandoned Cars at the Ministry of Municipality, told local Arabic daily 'Arrayah' that a total of 10,000 vehicles were spotted through campaigns since the year began. “The campaign will continue while covering the country 24 hours a day and seven days a week including weekends,” he said, adding that so far 10 electronic auctions have been held for the sale of abandoned vehicles through the Mzad Qatar
