Republican Yemen Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) announced on Monday the formation of a military and security committee to be tasked with uniting and restructuring all security and military forces in government-held areas, state-owned Saba news agency reported. In a statement issued following a meeting chaired by head of PLC Gen Rashad Al Alimi, the council said the goal of the newly-approved military committee was to restructure the army and military forces, prevent internal conformations within Yemeni forces, and create a unified joint command. The council asserted that the formation of a joint military and security committee was in accordance with Article 5 of the agreement
