Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad, Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, issued Decree No. 121 for the year 2022, promoting Ali Mahmoud Abbas, Minister of Defense to the rank of Major General as of April 30th, 2022. President al-Assad also issued Decree No. 122 for the year 2022, appointing General Abdul Karim Mahmoud Ibrahim as Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces as of April 30th, 2022.
