Republican Yemen The European Union welcomed on Saturday the announcement of a UN-sponsored truce for two months in Yemen that came into effect today at 7:00 p.m. “The EU welcomes the two-month truce over Ramadan brokered by UN Special Envoy Hans Grundberg,” EU High Representative Josep Borrell said in a statement. “The EU salutes the willingness shown by the parties in accepting the truce and the accompanying measures, including fuel shipments entering Hodeidah ports, commercial flights in and out of Sana’a and negotiations for opening roads in Taez and other governorates,” he added. Borrell urged the warring parties to abide by the truce and keep engaging with the UN Special Envoy to Yemen
