MICAH PARSONS has been issued a clear ultimatum over his future with the Dallas Cowboys.

Talks over a new deal for the star pass rusher have been ongoing for several months but recently appeared to grind to a screeching halt.

A public war of words between Cowboys chief Jerry Jones and Parsons was ignited last month.

Jones sparked the spat by claiming tying Parsons down to a new deal wasn’t “urgent” and that the franchise could “misread” on his “athletic ability”.

He’s also fired several shots at Parson’s agent, David Mulugheta, which prompted a defiant social media post from the four-time Pro Bowler.

He wrote on X: “David is the best and I will not be doing any deal without [him] involved!”

Despite the public spat, negotiations over a new contract for Parsons, who has entered the fifth year of his rookie deal with the Cowboys, have continued.

And Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones has issued a blunt statement on the 25-year-old’s future with the franchise.

During an appearance on Sirius XM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio, he said: “I’ve never been one to crystal ball when contracts get done.

“I mean, you can be close.

“You think you’re right around the corner, and then they get pushed out and there’s extenuating circumstances as to why they.

“Or their agent doesn’t wanna pull the trigger. So, you know, that’s just a work in progress.

“It’s never easy to comment on them, because you really don’t know where you are until both sides are ready to go.

“But obviously our goal is to –- and we have visited at times with Micah — and our goal is to get him here.

“And I think Micah wants to be a Cowboy, and we want him to be a Cowboy long term.”

It’s been reported that Parsons is going to command a five-year deal worth $40million APY.

If that deal is agreed, he’ll become the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
